Ragi dosa is a healthy breakfast from South Indian cuisine made with finger millet. Nachni, Ragulu, kezhvaragu, marwa are the other regional names to finger millet or red millet. This whole grain is a staple in many parts of Karnataka and Andhra pradesh. I make ragi dosa often at home for breakfast, brunch or even for dinner.

  • Take a large bowl, add coconut, onion, chilly, ginger, salt & jaggery and mix and mash it with hand or a spoon
  • Add water till thin dosa batter consistency (similar to neer dosa).
  • Heat a Dosa Tava (Iron frying pan), on medium flame, apply a thin coat of oil & pour a ladle of batter, spread it evenly and cover it with a lid.
  • After it cooks turn it over and cook both sides.
  • Serve it with chutney or sauce of your choice.
